Dear Tom,
I don’t say it enough, but thank you.
Thank you for supporting me and loving me through all of my wild adventures.
Thank you for being a kick ass dad to our kids. Your strong mind and gentle heart will do so much more for them than I ever will.
Thank you for loving me even though I am THE WORST house wife in the world.
You not only do the laundry, but you fold it and put it away. And you do the dishes and vacuum and sweep the floors and you never–NEVER–complain about it. Thank you.
Thank you for letting me put my cold feet on you at night and then taking the covers off of me when I start to sweat.
Thank you for not getting mad when I use all of the hot water or steal your pillow.
Thank you for bringing me a fountain soda home every day after work (without me asking) because you know how happy Diet Coke makes me.
Thank you for calling me every morning on your way to work to tell me you love me and that you hope I have a good day.
Thank you for eating my less than stellar meals and telling me they’re delicious.
Thank you for looking at my stretch marks and my highly imperfect body and telling me how beautiful I am.
Thank you for reading my books and telling me they’re wonderful.
Thank you for loving my family as much as I do.
Thank you for being a dedicated and hard-worker–something I know our kids will pick up on and carry through life.
Thank you for telling me I’m a wonderful mother, even when you come home to two kids screaming, one crying, and whole lot of yelling.
You’re the type of guy every girl wants and I’m the lucky one who gets to call you mine. <— I still don’t know how that happened because if there’s one thing I know for certain, it’s that I don’t deserve someone as wonderful and giving and selfless as you.
You put everyone’s needs before your own–often times putting mine at the very top. You make me laugh when I want to cry. You hold me, encourage me, lift me up, and dream with me.
I’ve said it a million times, but let me say it again… you’re stuck with me. I will stay by your side always, grateful that you chose me because you truly are the better half.
I don’t know what’s going to happen in this crazy life, or where it will lead us, but I do know that… I. AM. YOURS.
NO REFUNDS.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Love, your wife.
